Daniel Boakye, a Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of Globnet Financial Services (GFS)
Daniel Boakye, is a Development Economist with over 23 years’ experience
in mobilizing development finance, evaluation of investment projects and
policy advice on public financial management, including public–private
partnerships. As a former employee of the World Bank, he played a lead role
in mobilizing development finance for both Governments and the private
sector in Ghana, Liberia, Cote D’Ivoire, Togo and Benin. He is currently
consulting for the World Bank, with a focus on conducting financial and economic evaluation of
investment projects. Daniel holds an MPA degree from Harvard University, MA in Economic Policy
Management and a BA in Economics and French, both from the University of Ghana.
Daniel has a diverse background and experience in academia, private sector, international
development, and community work. As a Lecturer at Ghana Institute of Management and Public
Administration (GIMPA), he was responsible for teaching “Strategic Planning” and “Economic
Development”. He also conducted training programs for SMEs in the areas of Business Planning,
Financial Management and Customer Service. Before then, Daniel was an Investment Analyst at IFC,
where he focused on valuation of companies and their suitability for IFC loans. He is currently the
finance committee chair for a number of community projects. He has also contributed to several
reports, publications, and projects that aim at finding solutions to the development challenges facing
Africa. In addition, he has collaborated with government representatives, business leaders, other
economists, experts, and stakeholders from different regions and sectors, through workshops,
seminars, and conferences.
